Ubisoft Subject To “Cyber Security Incident”, But No Player Data Was Compromised

Ubisoft has confirmed that it has been the target of a cyber attack.

The company confirmed the incident via a statement on its website, stating that the “cyber security incident” caused “temporary disruption” to some of its games, systems, and services.

The good news, however, is that there is currently no evidence that any player personal information has been exposed as a by-product of the attack.

Ubisoft’s IT teams are currently working with leading external experts to investigate the incident. The publisher has also initiated a company-wide password reset as a precautionary measure.

It seems Ubisoft has gotten off fairly lightly in comparison to recent attacks on other publishers, with EA previously losing an alleged 780GB of data, and Capcom losing 1TB of data.
