Takashi Hamamura, game designer for HAL Laboratory, has announced that he has resigned from the company.

In a tweet posted on April 28th, the veteran stated (via a rough translation) “Today was the last day of work at HAL Laboratory. I would like to finally do game design research activities from next month. If you are interested, please come!”

Hamamura has worked on several games within the Kirby franchise, perhaps most notably serving as the Game Director for the 2006 DS game Kirby: Squeak Squad. He’s also worked in game design for Kirby Battle Royale and Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, but his credits go all the way back to 2004’s The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap, where he served as a planner.

Whatever Hamamura goes on to work on next, we wish him the very best of luck!
