Although Nintendo has now officially delayed The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 until 2023, there are still plenty of other first-party releases to get excited about. One, in particular, that Nintendo seems to be constantly mentioning on social media is Splatoon 3.
In its latest series of tweets, the official Splatoon Twitter account for North America has issued a series of tweets to get new players up to speed with Splatoon 3. It also prepares them for what to expect from this upcoming release and serves as a nice reminder (to existing fans) that the game is still on the way. It’s even shared some lovely artwork (which you may have previously seen) to go with each description:
Interested in #Splatoon3 but new to the world of Inklings and Octolings? We’ll explain some basics in this thread!
So what’s an Inkling? An Inkling is a creature that can transform from a humanoid into a squid! In humanoid form, Inklings can wield weapons and cool gear, but in squid form they can dive into pools of ink, reload, and swim which allows them to move much more quickly!
All of the weapons in #Splatoon3 use colored ink! Hit an opponent with enough of it and they’ll be splatted! But don’t worry, even if you miss you’ll still cover the ground with your team’s colored ink, which has its own benefits.
Use your abilities as a squid to get a leg/tentacle up on the opposing team!
-Move faster than a humanoid by swimming through your ink
-Reload your weapon while submerged in your ink
-Hide/ambush opponents by diving into your ink
-Quickly swim up walls and get a height
When Inklings and Octolings are competing they use a wide selection of ink-based weapons. These designs might seem unusual, but whether it’s a Splattershot, a Slosher, a Brella, or something else, they’re up to the task of delivering the ink!
Splatoon 3 is scheduled to arrive exclusively on the Nintendo Switch later this year. Are you looking forward to this upcoming release? Post a comment down below.
