Anime RPG ‘Made In Abyss’ To Contain Two Unique Game Modes

Spike Chunsoft. Inc has released new information regarding the two separate game modes that you can expect to sample in Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness when it launches on Switch later this year.

The first is called ‘HELLO ABYSS’, which essentially allows you to relive the anime while learning the basic systems and how to progress the game; think of it like a substantial tutorial for the other game mode. You’ll control the anime’s main protagonist Riko, who – alongside the human-like robot Reg – must navigate to the bottom of a colossal hole known as the Abyss.

The second mode is called ‘DEEP IN ABYSS; it will allow you to create a completely original Cave Raider character and progress through an original story by series’ author Akihito Tsukushi. You can complete missions and obtain relics to upgrade your character. This mode will be based purely on solo-exploration, so will require more planning and care than the aforementioned ‘HELLO ABYSS’ mode.

Spike Chunsoft. Inc has also provided information around the ‘Curse of the Abyss’ mechanic. Much like the original story, returning to the surface from a significant depth in the Abyss will affect your character in ways both physical and mental. You’ll also need to consider the number of items in your possession, as all crafting items will count towards your weight limit.

Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness will launch on Switch this coming fall. Will you be picking this one up? Be sure to let us know with a comment below.
